NEET UG Counselling 2024 – Step-wise Registration Procedure

Step 1: New User Registration

Candidates can initiate the NEET UG counseling 2024 registration by clicking on the provided link. During this step, they need to furnish details such as the preferred stream (Medical/Dental), NEET UG roll number, application number, candidate’s name, birth date, and security pin. After providing these details, they should click on the ‘Submit’ button. An agreement page will appear, offering the options ‘I Agree’ or ‘I Don’t Agree.’ If candidates wish to proceed with the application process, they need to click on ‘I Agree.’ The login credentials will then be displayed, and candidates should make a note of them, along with the password protected by a security question.

Step 4: Registration Slip

Upon the successful submission of details, a registration slip will be displayed on the screen. Candidates are advised to print this slip as it will be crucial for the subsequent admission process. To proceed further, click on the ‘Login’ button.

The ‘Available Choices’ link becomes active when the counselling process begins. On the left side of the screen, candidates will see the available choices.   • Any 15% AIQ seats remaining vacant after the last date for joining will be converted into State Quota seats.

The 2nd round of Counseling involves:

  1. Addition of a fresh set of seats to the system (seats available during round 1), if any, due to the latest approvals of MCI/DCI (increase in admission capacity of existing Medical/Dental College/starting of new Medical/Dental college).
  2. Conversion of seats during round 2 of seat allotment for AIQ and Mop-Up Round for Deemed Universities. Candidates are shown all choices (seats available and likely to be available) against vacant, newly added seats, virtual vacancies likely to get vacated during up-gradation, and during the conversion of seats according to specific algorithms for different categories.
  3. All eligible candidates who desire to take part in the second round & Mop-Up Round of online allotment must submit fresh choices during the choice submission period and lock the choices.
  4. There will not be any indicative allotment in Round 2 of allotment; locked choices of the candidates will be processed, and results will be published. Candidates who do not submit fresh choices for the round-2 counseling will not be considered.

After I join the Second Round of Counseling of 15% AIQ, can I leave/Resign to join the State Quota/Private College seat?

Once you join the second round seat from 15% All India Quota, you will not be allowed to vacate the allotted 2nd round seat as per the direction by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in WP(C) (267/2017) dated 09/05/2017. However, if you are allotted a seat in the Second Round in AIQ/Deemed, you can Exit with Forfeiture of the security amount.

Where and when will this security amount be refunded?

This fee will be refunded to the institution where the candidate has been admitted and will be adjusted against the first-year annual fee. In case the candidate is not allotted any seat in all rounds of counseling, including the stray vacancy round, the fee will be refunded to the account provided by the candidate at the time of registration. The security fee will be refunded only after the completion of counseling.

Who is eligible for the “Exit with Forfeiture” option?

A candidate who has been allotted a seat in Round II but does not report at the college may Exit with Forfeiture. (i.e., the refundable security amount will not be refunded in such a case).

Candidates can register in any round. If they register in the first round, there is no need to register in other rounds; they just have to change the choice filling.

Round 1:

  • If the seat is allotted in Round 1, and the candidate is accepting the seat, then 2.0 lakhs are refundable.
  • If the seat is allotted, and the candidate is not taking the seat, then they will get a refund with FREE EXIT, and they can drop the seat, with no loss of money.
  • If the seat is not allotted, then the 2.0 lakhs are refunded or moved to the next round.

Round 2 and Mop-up round:

  • If the seat is allotted in Round 2, and the candidate is accepting the seat, then 2.0 lakhs security is refundable.
  • If the seat is allotted and not accepted, then 2.0 lakhs security is refundable.
  • If the seat is not allotted, then the 2.0 lakhs are refunded or moved to the next round.

All India + Deemed Counselling: The total need to pay is 2.05 Lakhs for those who are registered for both.
