Step-by-Step Maharashtra NEET Counselling Process 2024
Step 1: Apply Online:
- Visit www. mahacet. website of the concerned board of the respective org and once you are at the official website you need to navigate towards the NEET UG 2024 option and there you find a link to Apply online for NEET-UG 2024.
- Read the guidelines and scroll down to the word “NEXT”.
- You have to complete the application form; it is recommended that you enter a valid mobile number and email address.
- You will be asked for OTP that has been sent to your account for the purpose of verifying your account.
- Fill the form and conform to the declaration given at the end of the form.
- After filling the form, the user is required to click the “I Agree” button.
- The manuscript should be submitted and for this the user should enter a password.
Step 2: Fee Payment:
- Deposit the prescribed online fee as follows the category of the candidate.
- Transaction costs incurred at the bank are extra.
- Retain the fee payment receipt for your reference.

Step 3: Verify and Download Application:
- You have to log in your application with the application number and password.
- Check the details of the application you want to enroll in and get a copy of the application.
- It is recommended that you should retain a copy of the downloaded copy as well the fee receipt for future use.
Counselling Process
Eligibility and Registration:
- In case you have qualified NEET-UG 2024, you can render your admission decision for the CAP Rounds.
- It is well recommended to register online before the stipulated time is over. As Part of your Membership you have the option to register before both the Round 1 and Round 3.
Round 1:
- Complete new preferences, for colleges of your choice, excluding or including those of your choice based on geolocation, setups and ranking status.
- The rule in obtaining this is that if you are contented with the fixed seat, you may so join and report to the college. But if your intention is to bid for a higher level in the next round sites on submission of the Status Retention Form.
- Filling this form means that the person agrees to take the seat that has been assigned to them and this will lock them out of more rounds if any.
- If you are not able to get seat in the Round 1 seat you will be able to get it in the Round 2.
Round 2:
- It includes the number of seats that remain unoccupied in round 1 as well as the seats that were vacated for some reason in round 1.
- This round consists in:
Those who did not register or complete their choices in the round one.
Those who had auditioned in Round 1 could not get a chair.
Those that were cancelled in Round 1 for providing incorrect information, will have another chance in this round with correct information.
This is a list of Round 1 participants, who joined their allotted college but did not choose to status Retention.
People who did not match to their desired Round 1 seat.
Those who applied in Round 1, those who have withdrawn within the given period of time and those who seeks another chance. - Please make new submissions for choices for round 2 as the initial ones are not recognised anymore.
- If this is the case, then it becomes mandatory to join the college if you are to occupy the seat. You can still try to claim a higher room later in the third round of bidding.
- If you fail to participate in the Round 2 seat, then you are only allowed for Round 3 after re-registration.
Round 3:
- Seats comprise those unfilled in Rounds 1 and 2 and those vacated due to non-joining or cancellations in any previous round.
- Eligible Candidates: This round includes
- Candidates who missed registering or filling choices in Rounds 1 and 2.
- Candidates who joined Round 2 but didn’t opt for Status Retention.
- Candidates who participated in Rounds 1 and 2 but weren’t allotted a seat.
- Candidates who registered specifically for Round 3.
- Submit new choices once more, as the previous round’s decisions don’t hold value here.
- Joining the allotted seat in Round 3 is compulsory.

- NEET-UG 2024 Mark sheet
- Nationality certificate issued by District Magistrate/ Additional District Magistrate. District Magistrate or Metropolitan Magistrate (if he is the authority to issue such certificate)/ Indian passport/SLC of HSC/12th Std. as a characteristic of the candidate pointing to their nationality as Indian.’
- The Domicile Certificate that valid and issued by the District Magistrate/ Metropolitan Magistrate/ Addl. District Magistrate or the Competent Authority for obtaining of such certificate.
- H. S. C. (or equivalent) examination/Copy of Mark Sheet
- SSC (or equivalent) passing certificate, which indicates the Date of Birth.
- Aadhar Card
- Incorporation statement of medical fitness to work in India (As per Annexure – H / Form 5)

- Certificate from the appropriate authority, showing that the person belongs to the economically weaker section of society, obtained for the year 2024-24.
- MKB: Aadhar card, Domicile certificate, Revenue records, Voter id, Birth certificate, Mother tongue certificate, SSC/HSC from MKB area.
- HA: Caste certificates of parents, domicile certificate, SSC/HSC of a candidate from a hilly area
- For Person with Disability (PWD) candidates Medical Fitness Certificate of Authorized Medical Board.
- For Minority Candidates – Refer rule 5. 11, 5. 12 & 5. 13
- For Orphan – depending on the type of the certificate it requires to be attained from the Women and Child Welfare department
MCC NEET UG Counselling 2024: An Overview
MCC NEET Counselling 2024 includes various steps-
Step 1: Registration:
- The very first process to go through in order to gain access to Counselling is registration, To register, one has to log into the Medical Counselling Committee website
- Then Scroll down the page and find the Registration link with the name ‘UG Counselling Registrations’ and click on it.
Registration link is then opened and the registration form must be filled up properly mentioning personal details, academic details and other details. - Once the candidate completes the registration with the help of the registration form, move to the Make Payment Section and pay the registration fee through debit card or UPI.
- The next level is the ‘payment processing’ which is followed by ‘registration preview’ in which you preview the registration to see if the information you have input is correct or not. After ticking all the references you have given, click on the ‘okay’ button.
- It is also advised that carry the registration with themselves for the future uses or can download the pdf form.
After registration is completed the student probably clicks on the log out from the registration and thereafter moves forward to choice filling Sections
Step 2: Choice Filling
- After registration the process that follows is ‘Choice Filling’ which enables you to select the Medical and dental colleges of your preferences to increase the chances that will shape your medical career.
- After registration. Log in again to complete the choice with details you have filled during registration.
- Well, now you can fill up choices for the list of colleges which are ideal for you, after logging in to choice filling.
As for the list of choices to select, it is impossible to run out of them. - After the choice filling is complete, go to the next part of the are known as the choice locking section.
Step 3: Choice Locking
- After short listing your choices proceed to Choice Locking section where you will ensure that the choices you want to be considered in the first round of NEET Counselling will be locked.
- Once you are satisfied with your preferred choice sheet, start locking all the colleges of that choice, one after the other.
Since any of the choices that you make can be locked and you cannot rescind your decision till the next session of the counselling, it’s advisable to lock your preference - This means that after each round of counselling, the investor will be presented with with a position they have never considered before.
- The counselling for medical and dental will be conducted with four rounds of Counselling and each round will have basic steps that are registration (for first round only, auto consideration for the other rounds), choice filling & locking, seat allotment result, document verification & reporting to the allotted colleges
Step 4: Rounds of Counselling
- The fourth step is the round of counselling as per the INTENSE format, where the counsellor will move to the different client’s and conduct the counselling sessions.
- The counselling for the Medical & Dental will be carried out with four rounds of Counselling and each round comprises normal steps as follows:- Registering (In the first round only, Auto-Registration for the other rounds), Choice Filling and Choice Locking, Seat Allotment, Result, documents verification and reporting to the institute allotted.
Round 1:
Register: To be a member of MCC pay your fees then register yourself online from the MCC website.
Choices: Plan and secure a choice fill rate & preferred subjects.
Seat Allotment: According to the rank and choices one can take a seat.
Results & Documents: Results available online, upload certificates.
Reporting: Signs of illness that you have to report to college with Documents (as an upgraded option).
Round 2:
Automatic Consideration: If the student failed to choose any preference 1st round, no need to register on the given school.
Fresh Registration: New applicants should register for Round 2; those who were unable to apply for Round 1, should do so.
Choices: To fresh new choices and secure them.
Seat Allotment & Reporting: In the same way as did in the Round 1.
Upgrade: The candidates who have cleared the Round 1 needs the relieving of Round 1 seat.
Round 3:
Automatic Consideration: As with round 2, the roofs of the subdivisions will also be alike.
Fresh Registration: Liking it again to Round 2, the third round did not differ much from the previous round in terms of the appearance of the ads.
Choices & Reporting: Al similar to Round 1 & 2.
Final Stray Vacancy Round:
Register: New registration required.
Elimination: Those with seats are vote out.
Vacancy Round: Slot selection should be made to meet the demand for seats that go to passengers.
Seat Allotment: As you will recall it is the winner of this round with merit that will carry the day.
Joining: Be in the allotted seat or else we will face consequences.
