Tamilnadu NEET UG Counselling 2024: Courses & Fees Structure, Seat Matrix, Dates & Schedule, Merit List and Registration Details

The Tamil Nadu TN NEET UG 2023 counseling procedure for the current academic year has been completed. Candidates were required to report to the institute for the stray vacancy round by 5:00 PM on September 30, 2023. As of now, there is no information regarding any additional rounds to fill remaining seats. If there are more vacancies, the Selection Committee at the Directorate of Medical Education and Research in Chennai will notify candidates through an official announcement on the website tnmedicalselection.net. The results of the TN NEET UG 2023 stray vacancy round seat allocation were announced on September 26, 2023. Provisional allotment letters for this round were accessible from September 27 to September 29, 2023.

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME) of Tamil Nadu has published the seat distribution chart for MBBS and BDS admissions under the management and NRI quotas. In total, there were 1956 seats allocated for MBBS and BDS admissions under these quotas. The complete counselling process was carried out online. The counselling for Tamil Nadu NEET 2023 was held independently for government seats and management/NRI quota seats. The Selection Committee, DMER, located in Chennai, is responsible for organizing the TN Medical counselling 2023.

TN NEET UG 2023 Rank List

The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Medical Education (TN DME) compiled the ranking of applicants who finalized their registration for the TN Medical Counseling 2023. The ranking was determined according to the scores achieved by the candidates in NEET 2023. TN DME published the Tamil Nadu NEET rank list 2023 on its official website, separately for each round.

TN Medical Counselling 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The TN medical counseling for MBBS/BDS courses in 2023 was carried out using NEET 2023 scores. To be eligible for TN medical counseling in 2023, candidates must have successfully passed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). TN Medical Counseling 2023 aimed at facilitating admissions to MBBS/BDS degree programs provided by:

  • Medical and dental colleges under the Tamil Nadu Government, such as I.R.T. Medical College located in Perundurai, Erode District.
  • Government quota seats in privately-funded medical colleges that are associated with either Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University or Rajah Muthiah Medical and Dental colleges linked with Annamalai University in Chidambaram.
  • ESIC Medical College
  • PGIMSR, K.K.Nagar, Chennai

TN NEET UG Eligibility Criteria 2023

Applicants are required to meet the TN NEET UG Eligibility Criteria 2023 as stated below:

  • Candidates must be a citizen of India
  • Indian citizens living abroad (OCI) who are registered under Section 7A of the Citizenship Act are eligible to participate in the Tamil Nadu NEET counseling for 2023. OCI candidates will be considered as General candidates and will not have access to reserved seats in any other category. It is mandatory for candidates to meet the eligibility criteria for NEET 2023.
  • They must be a native of Tamil Nadu
  • A candidate from Tamil Nadu who has completed their education from Class 6 to Class 12 in another state must provide the following documents belonging to their parents:
    • Birth certificate
    • Ration card
    • School leaving certificate/Class 10 passing certificate/Class 12 passing certificate/degree/diploma/professional course/no graduation certificate

TN Medical Counselling Process 2023

The process of applying for medical and dental colleges in Tamil Nadu began with the registration for TN NEET UG. All candidates who passed NEET 2023 were required to sign up for TN NEET counselling 2023. Following this, candidates needed to indicate their preferred course/college choices. TN Medical Counselling 2023 Registration

In order to participate in the Tamil Nadu Medical counseling session, it is essential to complete the application form on the official website tnmedicalselection.net. The online application form for the Tamil Nadu NEET counseling 2023 was accessible on the internet. Candidates are required to fill out the application form online and obtain a printed copy. Subsequently, they must send a copy of the completed application form along with the necessary documents via courier to the address provided below:

Candidates who encountered difficulties in accessing the online application form for the Tamil Nadu NEET 2023 counseling were instructed to visit the nearest e-Seva Kendra to complete the application process. They were required to bring all the essential documents along with a parent and visit the e-Seva Kendra between 10 am and 5 pm on any working day.

TN Medical Counselling 2023 Registration fee

  • In order to finalize the registration process and send in the application form for the Tamil Nadu NEET counselling 2023, candidates were required to make a non-refundable registration payment of INR 500, applicable to all categories.
  • Candidates falling under the Special Category (children of ex-servicemen, distinguished sports individuals, and individuals with benchmark disabilities) were required to make an extra payment of INR 100.
  • You have the option to pay the registration fee either online or by submitting a Demand Draft made out to “The Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai-10,” payable in Chennai.

TN Medical Counselling 2023 Counselling schedule

The official website of DME has published the schedule and minimum qualifying marks for the initial round of Tamil Nadu counselling in 2023. Those who met the NEET 2023 cut-off for MBBS in Tamil Nadu had to attend the counselling session at the specified time and location. These individuals are advised to obtain their admission letters from DME’s official website. In addition to the admission letter, candidates must bring the listed documents when attending the counselling session.

Below is the comprehensive list of documents needed for document verification during the counseling session:

  • NEET 2023 result/scorecard
  • NEET 2023 admit card
  • Class 10 mark sheet
  • Class 11 mark sheet
  • Marksheet of Class 12 or equivalent
  • A certificate confirming that the student has successfully completed their education from Class 6 to Class 12 at a school in Tamil Nadu.
  • You need to submit a transfer certificate from the school you last attended, or alternatively, you can provide a bonafide certificate from your current educational institution.
  • Certificate of birthplace (the applicant is originally from Tamil Nadu but has completed education from grade 6 to grade 12 at an institution outside Tamil Nadu).
  • Aadhar Card
  • Community Certificate (if applicable)
  • Ration card/Passport

Document of parents:

  • Transfer certificate, SSLC, Class 10, Class 12 mark sheet, first graduate certificate, and non-graduate certificate.

When selecting a college to apply for, the fee structure is a significant factor to consider. In the case of self-financing medical and dental colleges, the fee structure is determined by the Fee Committee of the Government of Tamil Nadu. Candidates who are allocated a spot must pay the tuition fee through a demand draft made out to “The Secretary, Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education, Kilpauk, Chennai-10”, and payable in Chennai.
